2/20/13 Topic ideas for all kindergarten students have been noted and approved!
Projects are scored on a 100 point evaluation scale.
Model: 35 points (created by student, relevancy)
Display: 30 points (content/informative, neatness, creativity/colorful)
Report: 35 points (title page, content, complete sentences, capitalization, punctuation, spelling, penmanship)
The evaluation will also note the evidence of student involvement and adherence to the guidelines.
Specific Guidelines:
- Display--pictures, drawings, photographs should be represented on the display board (provided to you)
- Model--must be made by the student, NOT ready-made. The model should be a free-standing, preferably not attached to the display board.
- Title Page--should contain the title of the project, child's name, date, grade, and teacher's name
- Written Report--completed on one or two pages (provided for you, in binder folder), 3-4 sentences in length. The student should exhibit good handwriting. No typed reports are allowed. Please use complete sentences, correct capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. The finished report should be placed in a clear, plastic report cover.
Please remember that, although the project is created with your supervision, it is the child's work. For the report, your child may dictate sentences to you and then copy the dictation. The pictures on the display board may include original drawings, printed work, online content, and photographs. Photos of your child, working on their project, are also appropriate.
