Week 5: Life On The Farm

We made butter!
A bit of cream, a dash of salt...shake, shake, shake.

We joined the lowercase letters with the uppercase letters.
After our work was checked, we turned over our picture cards.

We visited the writing center to work on our illustrations.

We found many ways to sort the farm animals and dinosaurs.

During Super Centers, a few of us tended to a friend.
In addition to enduring several "tests",
he was prayed over with enthusiasm!

After reading "The Way I Feel", we made silly faces with magazine features.  We practiced tying knots, too!

Week 4: Life On The Farm

We discovered many reasons to support the need to READ!

Mr. J. led the reading station!

We built the sentences, word by word,
and read them to each other.

We used geometric knowledge
 to build designs with pattern blocks.

We collected information about farm animals:
What we know...
What we want to know...

We analyzed data from a tally graph.

We created a graph by rolling an animal picture cube
and colored the results.

Art Project:  "Tip, Tip, Dig, Dig"

Week 3: Life In The City

We built words with playdo!

We created caterpillars with attribute blocks.

We used watercolors to create an ABC collage.
The crayon markings resist the watercolors!

We found rhyming pairs on the picture mats.

We built a railroad during Super Center Thursday!

We measured with unifix cubes.

Week 2: Me and My Family

Friday marked our 10th day of school!

Zero the Hero sent a special zero shaped snack for us to enjoy.

He will make an appearance on 

the 50th and the 100th days of school!

Art Lesson
We glued ten paper strips in various lines:
horizontal, vertical, diagonal

We can match object sets with numerals.

Math
We showed our knowledge of "one more"
as we built stair step sets of objects.

During Thursday Super Centers, assembling the train set encouraged teamwork and cooperation.

We used shapes to assemble Pete the Cat!
His first two books are available
in the Scholastic flyers this month!

"Quick As A Cricket".

We discussed how to care for a pet
as we learned about responsibility.
